Artist Statement
The sculpture ‘La cuna (The Cradle)’ by Leonora Carrington and Jose Horna serves as a point of departure for this project. The history of this object as a vessel built for a childs journey into dreamland resonates with my interest in working with children at PMH.
Biography
Elizabeth Marruffo grew up in a small border town in Sonora, Mexico. She emigrated to England at 7 years old, and then later to Australia. Elizabeth works predominantly in the medium of painting, but includes small sculptures in her immersive installations.
