Artsource volunteers are an invaluable part of making the most of opportunities we are able to offer visual artists and the audiences we work for.
Volunteering gives you the opportunity to become an active member of the arts community, while helping others and yourself.
Artsource recognises the definition of volunteering established by Volunteering Australia, which is that:
‘Volunteering is time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain.’
Artsource values its volunteers and we will provide you with:
-
A written position description so you understand your role and the tasks you are authorised to perform;
-
A full induction, orientation and any other training necessary for the volunteer role;
-
A supervisor or contact person, so that you have the opportunity to ask questions, receive feedback or address any issues that arise;
-
Reimbursement for any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur as a result of volunteering for us;
-
A safe environment in which to perform your role.
We ask that you:
-
Support Artsource's values, aims and objectives;
-
Perform your role to the best of your ability, as agreed in the role description;
-
Follow Artsource’s policies and procedures including health and safety, and equality and diversity with anyone with whom you work, and the Code of Ethics and Conduct;
-
Participate in all relevant induction and training;
-
Only undertake duties you are authorised to perform and always operate under the direction and supervision of nominated staff and follow reasonable directions and instruction;
-
Maintain confidentiality of the organisation and of its’ clients, customers or service users as appropriate;
-
Honour your commitment as agreed, or provide reasonable notice if circumstances prevent.
Artsource hosts many events throughout the year that cannot take place without the generous support of our volunteers.
