Biography

Born Auckland 1963. Graduated from ECU in 2005 with Honors. Since then I have participated in local group and solo exhibitions as well as group shows in the US at MASSMOCA and Primopiano Gallery Leece Italy. I have done residencies at North Metropolitan TAFE and Fremantle Arts Centre. I won the Cliftons Art Prize in 2015 .Recently my cutouts featured in the Artsource Windows program in Fremantle curated by Roslyn De Souza.

Artist Statement

I am interested in figurative abstraction. My pictures stem from observation of people at play in the landscape be that a Cafe or the Beach. I My project involves transferring quick sketches into permanent forms gestural images transformed into frozen moments. How images read across different techniques and mediums is a source of fascination for me .
