Biography

Renée explores the beauty and vulnerability of her local environment through illustrative and mixed media techniques that include abstract and realistic depictions of landscape elements and details. Combining art and design, Renée is also skilled in developing drawn designs into sculpture forms and integrating art into infrastructure surface treatments and built form. Through her art, landscape architecture and work in natural resource management, Renée values working with local people committed to protecting and restoring the natural environment and respecting and celebrating local place values. .

Artist Statement

Renée Barton lives in Halls Head, Western Australian on Bindjareb Boodja and is forever inspired by and compelled to be a steward for the unique local environment that exists between Ocean and Estuary. As Visual Artist and Landscape Architect, Renée exhibits her creativity and design skills across diverse surfaces and scales.
